Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Darling Dough Co. collects when you use this website, how I use it, and who I share it with. I collect only what I need to run the bakery and fulfill orders, and I do not sell your information.

Information you provide

When you place an order or submit a Bake Event request, I collect your name, email address, phone number, and the details of your order (items, quantities, and requested pickup date). I use this information to prepare, fulfill, and communicate with you about your order, and for nothing else.

If you contact me through the site's contact form, I collect whatever you include in that message so I can respond.

Signing in with Google

This site uses Google Sign-In for two separate, unrelated purposes. In both cases, sign-in is handled entirely by Google — I never see or store your Google password, and I have no way to reset it or sign in as you anywhere else.

Admin sign-in

The bakery's authorized admins sign in to the admin dashboard using Google Sign-In. When they do, Google shares their basic profile information with the site: name, email address, and profile photo. This is used only to verify identity and display who is logged in inside the admin dashboard, and not for any other purpose.

Customer accounts (optional)

You can optionally sign in with Google to create an account. Signing in is never required — you can always place an order or contact me as a guest without one. If you do sign in, I receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google, and store them along with any profile details you add yourself: phone number. I use this only to save you from re-entering the same details on future orders. You can review or update this information any time from your Account page, and you can sign out at any time.

I do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Contacts, or any other Google service — only your basic Google profile (name, email address, and profile photo) at sign-in.

My use of Google user data

Darling Dough Co.'s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

I use the name, email address, and profile photo Google shares with me only to identify you and to run the features described above: verifying my identity in the admin dashboard, and identifying customers and pre-filling order details on this site. I do not use this information for advertising, do not sell it or share it with data brokers, do not use it to make credit or lending decisions, and do not use it to train or improve any generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models. Google user data is never transferred to any other party except as needed to host and run this website (see below).

How I store and protect your information

Order, contact, and account information is stored in my database, encrypted in transit and at rest, and is accessible only to the bakery's authorized admins, so orders can be fulfilled. I don't share, sell, or rent your information to third parties. The only outside parties involved are the services I use to run the site — my hosting and database providers, and Google (for sign-in) — each of which only processes data on my behalf to provide those services. I use your information only to run the bakery: taking orders, confirming pickups, and responding to your messages.

Data retention and deletion

I keep order and contact records for as long as needed for bookkeeping and to serve returning customers. If you'd like your information removed, email me at the address below and I'll delete it, unless I'm required to keep records for tax or legal reasons.
